I’m writing this post on the train on the way to work because I was too tired and grumpy and overcome by a sort of malaise this week to really put any thought into it. I don’t even have a good excuse.
Gone are the days when Tutti would send me to school with a note apologising for lateness or absence or a lack of homework, always with the simple explanation ‘Cecily is suffering from Mung Bean Disease’.
My genetic disposition to tardiness and an aversion to school sports days meant I was constantly in the throes of Mung Bean Disease and though it never failed to exasperate our stern, limping, new-hipped school librarian (to whom excuse-notes were always delivered), how can one argue against such a creative explanation? Even if it’s clearly a lie and certainly doesn’t exist?
So, I hope you will forgive me dear reader. The truth is, I am dealing with a serious case of Mung Bean Disease today. But in lieu of a well thought out post, I shall treat you to a photo of Tutti, resplendent in feathers.
Don’t say I don’t spoil you!
Have a wonderful weekend. xx
I love this! I’m filing Mung Bean Disease away for my own use down the line.
Good idea! It’s the perfect excuse for any situation.
